This is not a piece of my own creative work. But if you put up a prompt about one’s experience with time zone changes, and one of your respondents to the prompt has a brother who has made a living with a comedy routine on that topic–well, what did you expect?

Here is my brother Hugh on a Rodney Dangerfield special.  Go to 5:11 to pick up the “time zone” bit.

  1. Laurie Levy says:

Your brother is a riot, Dale. Thanks for sharing this. I needed a good laugh today!

  2. Ben McKelway says:

That was great. And even more pertinent because Indiana has two time zones, right? I didn’t know your brother is a comedian. Tell us more about him!

  3. Dave Ventre says:

Love a good standup. No one is smarted than a talented comedian.

  4. Betsy Pfau says:

Funny stuff, Dale! When is this from? How old was your brother at the time? Of course the jokes were universal (though Moses Malone was a while ago). Love the time zone confusion. Now we are on DST, but Europe isn’t, so for two weeks, my kids in London are six hours ahead of us, until their clock advances. How about that?

    • This was a Rodney Dangerfield special, and let’s face it, Rodney left the mortal coil quite a few years ago. So yes, this was much earlier in Hugh’s career, maybe in the late 1990s? You have kids in London–what are they in, the paleolithic Age?
