Then, socially awkward teen.
Now, once in a while I don’t feel socially awkward for a minute but then put my foot in my mouth and chew vigorously, or realize just seconds too late that, yes, that was yet another party foul. All too easy to revert to form and that socially awkward teen mode. I thought that with age came wisdom. Sigh.
Characterizations: been there, funny, right on!, well written
Yes, I know exactly what you mean! I often feel the same way, although I do think I am somewhat more socially adept than I was then.

Did one of those just a week or so ago….
Maybe the wisdom is knowing that the people who love you will love you anyway, and the rest can just f@#k off.
I agree with what John says. We all chew vigorously at some point, and usually the people that we care about overlook whatever we think we have done. I find many people don’t even remember what you did or said if you ask them about it.
